About Torony's Giant Hot Dogs
Over the years, they served their famous menu, including fresh cut French fries, the famous foot long hot dogs and Eleanor's special chili sauce. They truly had a passion for their little stand. John would say "our customers are like family" and they truly were. There were long waits on the weekends, but people didn't mind. Customers would say "it's like being at Times Square------you always meet someone you know."
Torony's holds a lot of history for the people of the Wyoming Valley. John and Eleanor watched their customers grow and John always had treats for the kids. Even newlyweds would come from the reception---wedding gown and tux and limo---for a hot dog. They would be greeted with everyone at the counter toasting them with champagne.
Widening of Route 315 forced Torony's Hot Dogs to move to their present location at Fox Hill Road across from the side entrance to Mohegan Sun, Plains. You can still discover the phenomenal hot dog that has been a part of Luzerne County---and beyond---since the 50's. The legacy of the Torony's and their giant hot dogs are still here to be enjoyed by new generations----and old!
